Alright seniors, time to get your free money. Everyone knows that college isn’t cheap nowadays, so fortunately foundations and organizations are offering opportunities to earn money by simply filling out applications. To make it easier for you, I have rounded up the scholarships to apply for, and their eligibility requirements.

1. The Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace Docent Guild Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Unweighted GPA of at least a 3.5
  • Graduating senior at one of the four high schools in the PYLUSD

If you meet the eligibility requirements, to apply you will need:

  • A minimum one page, typed, double-spaced essay in response to a writing prompt
  • A brief summary of leadership involvement
  • A brief summary of community service/work experience
  • One letter of recommendation
  • An official transcript

To apply, pick up an application in counseling, due April 15th!

2. The “Green It Up!” $500 Scholarship Contest

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a high school senior in Orange County, CA
  • Must be a US citizen or permanent legal resident of the US

If you meet the eligibility requirements, to apply you will need:

  • Write a short essay, of at least 400 words, describing three ways you can reduce your carbon footprint

3. The Wyatt Olive Memorial Scholarship Fund

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Unweighted GPA of at least a 3.0
  • Current senior at YLHS
  • Extracurricular involvement in at least one of the following: athletics, academic clubs, volunteer work
  • Accumulated 80 or more community service hours
  • Financial need

If you meet the eligibility requirements, to apply you will need:

  • An official transcript
  • A description of your future plans
  • A brief summary of extracurricular involvement
  • A brief summary of community service involvement

4. Placentia Round Table Women’s Club Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Unweighted GPA of at least a 3.0
  • Must be a graduating senior living within the PYLUSD boundaries

If you meet the eligibility requirements, to apply you will need:

  • An official transcript
  • A letter of recommendation
  • A completed application

5. Yorba Linda Chamber of Commerce Scholarship

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Must be a graduating senior of the PYLUSD
  • Must have an academic unweighted GPA of at least a 2.3
  • Must have work experience or demonstrate strong community service involvement

If you meet the eligibility requirements, to apply you will need:

  • An official transcript
  • Two completed recommendation forms (provided in application)
  • A completed application
