As the Mustang Women’s tennis team approaches their first round of league matches next week, the thrill of competition is beginning to bite away at their feet. To start off their season, they participated in the annual First Serve Tournament at El Dorado High School  and rivaled against six different schools. After eight grueling hours of battling, the team took first place and won by one game. The final set determined their win, and allowed the Mustangs to walk off the court as champions against their conference rivals, the El Dorado Hawks.

Since the victorious kick off to their season, the lady Mustangs have played Sunny Hills, Pacifica, Valencia, Fullerton, Oxford Academy, Calvary Chapel, Rosary, Villa Park, Foothill, and El Dorado as pre-cursors to their league games and have been vastly successful thus far. Overall, the team is standing with a 6-4 record and is anxious to dominate in league matches, beginning next week.

These ladies have worked for their success, and are extremely determined to keep the winning streak alive. As three time league champions, the current seniors on the team feel obligated to make this last season their best. Farah Modarres (12) is determined to “Go out with a bang this year.” So far, no true obstacle has gotten in their way; thus, this season should not go any differently than the ones prior. The Mustang tennis girls are notorious for their hard-working habits, which is why they are a team perfectly fit for the Mustang title.

The Women’s Mustang tennis team has their first league home match this week on Tuesday, October 7th against El Modena. To see these ladies keep the fire of their past victories alive, come out to support! You will not want to miss watching this team tear it up on the courts. Good luck to the Women’s tennis team in their season, Go Mustangs!
