‘America’s Got Talent’ Finale

This season of ‘America’s Got Talent’ was rated the highest it has been since six years. The finale had drawn an audience of 14.4 million people nationwide making it one of the biggest competition finals this year. Numerous amounts of teens at YLHS are captivated by this competition reality show. Finalists on the show include, Sal Valentinetti, Sofie Dossi, Linkin Bridge, Laura Bretan, The Clairvoyants, Brian Justin Crum, Tape Face, Viktor Kee, John Dorenbos, and Grace Vanderwaal. One loyal viewer, Nick Deang (9), says “America’s Got Talent is one of my favorite TV shows because it is so interesting to see the unique and bizarre acts.”

 

During the beginning of the show, Sal Valentinetti started off by singing “Mack the Knife” by Frank Sinatra which really showed off his bluesy, soulful voice. Sal’s voice was like a velvety with a warm tone. Following Sal’s incredible performance, Sofie Dossi a teen contortionist took the stage. Dossi flipped and brought her best acrobatic tricks to allure the audience making Simon Cowell comment that it was her best performance yet. Linkin Bridge was the next act to perform and they sang “See You Again” by Charlie Puth which brought viewers to their feet.

 

Furthermore, the finale was off to a great start and hoping to keep the energy alive, opera singer Laura Bretan was up next. Laura sang the classic song “O Mio Babbino Carro” which sent chills down everyone’s spine as she hit the high notes. The psychic duo The Clairvoyants began by guessing a random person’s birthday and the last four digits of Simon’s credit card. Leaving the audience in awe, the duo received a standing ovation from everybody. Brian Justin Krum followed shortly after and sang Michael Jackson’s “Man in the Mirror” with a stupendous last note.

 

Towards the end of the show, comedy mime, Tape Face took the stage with Mel B as the volunteer. Tape Face used Mel B as a human prop as he pretended to have a race with  two stick horses. Later, Viktor Kee performed his part of the show with his magical juggling balls. Some of his balls were on fire which made the surprise factor present. Magician Jon Dorenbos performed his magic trick with an influential speech and amazing card trick. Dorenbos could be named the next winner according to Simon. The last act to perform was Grace Vanderwaal. She sang another original anthem entitled “Clay” and sang some powerful vocals hoping to win the entire show.

 

After all the acts had performed, media and the people of YLHS have taken it positively. Payton Chelliah (10) asserted, “ I love Grace Vanderwaal on AGT because she is original and has an awesome voice.” America’s Got Talent season 11 had superb finale making it one to remember in years to come.
