2016 Movie Preview

“Movies has always been a huge part of my life,” said Joann Fu (12), “I am super excited for upcoming films because I know that lots of great movies are coming out this year.”

 

A brand new year has begun. 2016 is here, a whole new year for new, first-rate movies.  It’s time to take a look at the biggest and best upcoming film releases of 2016.

 

1. The 5th Wave (January 15th)

In this film, four waves of increasingly devastating alien attacks decimate most of the Earth and kill millions of humans. As the chaos continues, Cassie Sullivan (Chloë Grace Moretz) tries to save her kidnapped brother. This movie is motivated by the novel The 5th Wave, written by Rick Yancey.

2. Kung Fu Panda 3 (January 29th)

Another Kung Fu Panda is back! In this third volume, Po’s long-lost father shows up and the reunited duo takes a journey to a secret panda paradise.

3. Deadpool (February 12th)

In this long-awaited American superhero film, Deadpool, who possesses a superhuman healing factor and the alter ego Deadpool, chase down the man who almost ruined his life.

4. Zoolander 2 (February 12th)

The two foolish male models, Derek Zoolander (Ben Stiller) and Hansel (Owen Wilson) must restrain the person who tries to kill the world’s most beautiful people.

5. The Divergent Series: Allegiant (March 18th)

This film features the half of the final book in the Divergent series. Beatrice Prior and Tobias Eaton travels into the outside world and follows into protective custody.

6. Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (March 25th)

The Batman and Superman fights each other, while the world struggles with which superhero is truly needed to protect the world. However, Batman and Superman have to be united to crush Lex Luthor and Doomsday.

7. Captain America: Civil War (May 6th)

Political interruption in the Avengers’ movements leads to a dispute between Captain America (Chris Evans) and Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), which leaves Avengers in chaos.

8. Alice Through the Looking Glass (May 27th)

Alice (Mia Wasikowska) returns to the Wonderland and takes a trip back in time to rescue Mad Hatter (Johnny Depp).

9. Central Intelligence (June 17th)

After reuniting with his old friend Calvin (Kevin Hart) , Bob (Dwayne Johnson) lures Calvin to become his assistant and be part of a major CIA mission.

10. The Legend of Tarzan (July 1st)

Lord Greystoke, a former Tarzan, has been living a normal life with Jane in England. Now, he has been invited back to the jungle to serve as an investigator of mining encampment activities.
