With the Grammys taking place on February 1st, the next big 4 awards show (which are the Grammys, the Oscars, the Tonys, and the Golden Globes) taking place is the Oscars on March 15th. Let’s take a look at some of the big categories and their nominees.
1. Best Picture
– Bugonia
– F1
– Frankenstein
– Hamnet
– Marty Supreme
– One Battle After Another
– The Secret Agent
– Sentimental Value
– Sinners
– Train Dreams
I know options like Sinners and One Battle After Another are favorites to win, but I believe others like Frankenstein and F1 are also strong contenders. I personally haven’t watched many of the others, but Jasmine Moawad (10), an avid F1 fan, voices her faith in F1, “I think it has a good chance to win because the visuals are pretty and realistic to an actual F1 car. I believe, if we imagined ourselves in an F1 car, that’s what it would look like.”
2. Best performance by an actor in a leading role
– Timothee Chalamet, Marty Supreme
– Leonardo DiCaprio, One Battle After Another
– Ethan Hawke, Blue Moon
– Michael B. Jordan, Sinners
– Wagner Moura, The Secret Agent
All excellent actors, from Leonardo DiCaprio to Michael B. Jordan. Variety predicts Ethan Hawke will take the win though, with his role in Blue Moon. Grace Acevedo (10) expresses her lack of belief in Timothee Chalamet, stating that he “hit his peak and is now in his post-peak era”, signaling that she doesn’t believe he’ll beat out the other impressive competitors.
3. Best performance by an actor in a supporting role
– Benicio del Toro, One Battle After Another
– Jacob Elordi, Frankenstein
– Delroy Lindo, Sinners
– Sean Penn, One Battle After Another
– Stellan Skarsgard, Sentimental Value
With two of five nominations, it seems One Battle After Another has an elevated chance of taking the win in this category. But that’s not to detract from the three other actors, since IndieWire believes Stellan Skarsgard’s Sentimental Value performance will take it.
4. Best performance by an actress in a leading role
– Jessie Buckley, Hamnet
– Rose Byrne, If I Had Legs I’d Kick You
– Kate Hudson, Song Sung Blue
– Renate Reinsve, Sentimental Value
– Emma Stone, Bulgonia
Leading ladies! According to both IndieWire and Variety, Jessie Buckley’s Hamnet performance is slated to win.
5. Best performance by an actress in a supporting role
– Elle Fanning, Sentimental Value
– Inga Ibsdotter Lilleaas, Sentimental Value
– Amy Magidan, Weapons
– Wunmi Mosaku, Sinners
– Teyana Taylor, One Battle After Another
Again, Sentimental Value’s increased nominations hint at an increased chance of winning, but that’s not to discredit the other three nominees. In fact, Variety picked Teyana Taylor as their prediction for best supporting actress.
– Arco
– Elio
– KPop Demon Hunters
– Little Amelie or the Character of Rain
– Zootopia 2
If I had to put money on the line, I’d pick either KPop Demon Hunters, which took the world by storm just in time to become every child’s Halloween costume, or Zootopia 2, the long-awaited sequel and continuation of everyone’s favorite bunny-fox duo’s journey. Variety agrees with me on KPop Demon Hunters.

I think K-Pop Demon Hunters will win as well, it got so much hype last year and even a little bit this year!
