Back in September of 2025, it was announced by Apple Music and the NFL that performer Bad Bunny would take the stage as the headliner for the proceeding Halftime Show. On Super Bowl Sunday, February 8th, 2026, the artist put on a show after the first two quarters of the game. The game between the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots ended with a victory for the Seahawks, the final score being 29-13.
Although prior to the actual day, there was much controversy surrounding the 60th Super Bowl, beginning immediately after the announcement of Bad Bunny as the Halftime Show entertainer. Despite the division over whether he was a good fit for the position or not, that did not stop him from putting on a show.
To begin the show, Bad Bunny can be seen standing in a field of sugar cane, surrounded by laborers working to harvest the crop. Many South American countries are known for the extensive cultivation of the crop. It is here where he begins to sing “Tití Me Preguntó,” which is one of his most popular songs. Grecia Chavez (12) notes that, “I had been predicting what song he was going to open with, but this song wasn’t even on my list. It definitely caught me by surprise, but I loved it.”
Bad Bunny continues on a route that takes him by a cart selling fresh coconuts, elderly men playing dominoes, and a young girl working as a nail technician, alongside a multitude of other culturally significant aspects of life.
It then cuts to various celebrities standing on the patio of a house, dancing to Bad Bunny’s music. A few well-known names are Cardi B, Pedro Pascal, and Karol G. Bad Bunny appears on the roof and transitions into his next song. He then proceeds to fall through the roof of the house, quickly navigating through a crowd of people to climb onto the roof of a truck, where he begins to sing “EoO.” After this, a mariachi group accompanies him in the playing of “Monaco.”
Moments later, Lady Gaga, a shocking guest performer, is singing one of her hit songs, “Die With A Smile,” with the accompaniment of a plethora of rather traditional Spanish instruments, as she begins to dance with Bad Bunny. Madison Juhl (12) expresses her shock at the appearance of Lady Gaga as she says, “I would’ve never guessed he was going to bring out Lady Gaga. I mean, I didn’t even know that they knew the other existed. I really enjoyed it, though, I just never thought the two worlds would collide.”
Shortly after, Bad Bunny can be seen navigating the dance floor with partygoers, amusingly awaking a little boy sleeping across a few chairs, a staple interaction at Latino parties, introducing even more culture to the show. The set changes once again to the city streets, with musicians filling the roof, and dancers taking their places in front of the market as Bad Bunny begins to sing “NUEVAYoL.” Later on, the next guest artist is introduced, Ricky Martin takes over, singing a few lines from Bad Bunny’s song “LO QUE LE PASÓ A HAWAii” where he is featured.
The screen then cuts back to Bad Bunny, where he is standing with a Puerto Rican flag over his shoulder, as dancers climb electricity poles behind him. He joins them soon after, looking out at the crowd from a higher distance. Finally, the show begins to come to a close when a large crowd of people runs out, many are carrying flags. Spanning from the top of North America to the bottom of South America, Bad Bunny lists every country, representing the idea that there is strength in unity. The last song that plays is “DeBÍ TiRAR MáS FOToS” as a large message is written on the screen behind Bad Bunny, which reads, “THE ONLY THING MORE POWERFUL THAN HATE IS LOVE,” exemplifying the lesson he wants all to understand as he dances with the crowd out of the stadium floor.

I like Bad Bunny, but I thought his performance was a little underwhelming. The sets were cool, but I don’t think his actual singing was that good.
