Harry Styles has been a global icon since he was 16. From a baker in a small town to a member of One Direction to the solo artist he is today, he has earned his recognition as a household name. Recently, Styles reemerged from his year-long hiatus with a new single, “Aperture.” This song has gone incredibly viral considering he has not released new music since 2022. 

Furthermore, Styles announced a brand new album called Kiss All the Time. Disco Occasionally which is set to release March 6th. Pahal Shukla (10) commented that she is “very excited for this new era. Just from the new single itself, it sounds very different from any other music he has done, so I hope the album is similar.” Styles has secretly been working on this album for the last year, maintaining little to no public appearances. Fans perceive this as a rebrand with new themes and styles that they are already seeing in his new music. Part of this includes the title tracks he announced, which many are confused by. The one song title that is really taking fans by surprise is “Season 2 Weight Loss.” Many find it unique and are curious at what this song and album in general will be about, but others have critiqued the song and find it tone deaf and irrelevant. 

Another major criticism Styles is receiving has to do with the tour he announced for this year. Although it is rumored he will add more dates for 2027, fans are still incredibly disappointed with the lineup. This is because he is only going to seven locations. The only one in America is in New York, where he is performing at Madison Square Garden for 30 nights. Despite these dates selling out within minutes, most fans are unable to attend as travel expenses add up fairly quickly. On top of that, Styles and his team did not cap ticket prices and let Ticketmaster price them by demand, which has caused singular tickets to cost upwards of a thousand dollars. Alissa Macedo (10) added that she “is really shocked by the lack of dates, and it is really unfair to the fans who have wanted to see him live.” Hopefully, Styles expands his tour to more locations in 2027 so that more fans have the opportunity to see him.

Overall, Kiss All the Time. Disco Occasionally has caused a lot of uproar in the media both positively and negatively. Nonetheless, Harry Styles is making a definite comeback this year.
