PYLUSD’s 2026 Winter Formal is on February 21st from 7:00PM-10:00PM at Arroyo Trabucco Golf Course. This dance will bring together students from Valencia High School, El Dorado High School, Esperanza High School, El Camino Real High School, and of course Yorba Linda High School. The shared Winter Formal experience across these schools creates a sense of community within the PYLUSD campuses. This year’s theme has the extravagant theme of “A Golden Gala.”
“A Golden Gala” has symbolized celebration and elegance, making it a perfect theme for the Winter Formal dance. Students are encouraged to step into the spotlight and dress their best for a night of luxury and glamor. This theme says gold accents paired with colors like black, deep purple forest green, navy, or burgundy. It is recommended to wear formal clothes like dresses and tuxedos. One of the most exciting aspects of Winter Formal is dressing up and taking photos with friends or with your date. This theme encourages students to think outside the box and dive into the Gilded age (1870s to 1900s) where galas like this were especially popular. Olivia Teran (12) says, “I like that this theme is both elegant and fun to dress up with my friends.” The key to “A Golden Gala” attire is the color schemes and style of dresses.
Popular Options to dress with;
- Gold or champagne-colored dresses
- Sequined or metallic fabrics that shimmer under lights
- Classic one colored dresses (Black, burgundy, emerald) paired with gold accents or jewelry
- Long satin or silk dresses for a formal look
- Gold accessories like a purse, a pair of heels, jewelry
- A traditional suit or tuxedo
- Gold pocket square
- Gold tie or bow tie
Beyond the music and dancing on the dance floor, Winter Formal will include photo booths, karaoke, and so much more. Cindy Aguilera (12) says “I’m excited to celebrate my last Winter Formal as a senior with my friends from other schools.” Tickets for this dance start at $50 w/ ASB and $60 w/out ASB from January 14-16th and change to $60 w/ ASB and $70 w/out ASB from January 17th to February 20th. Tickets will not be sold at the dance and can only be bought until February 20th at the activities office.
