An awards ceremony hosted annually at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California brings together the biggest stars in Hollywood to celebrate those who recently excelled in the industry. The 2026 Golden Globes were the 83rd ceremony, with the tradition beginning in 1944. With a red carpet, curious interviews, comedic bits, and a variety of awards, the Golden Globes were everything you could imagine and more.
This year’s ceremony was hosted by the one and only Nikki Glaser, a comedian whose popularity has skyrocketed as of late. Known for her humorous jabs at anybody and everybody, she is the first woman to have ever hosted the ceremony all by herself and has returned after having successfully hosted the 2025 Golden Globes.
Not only did Glaser’s lines entertain the audience, but so did her outfits, with over seven outfit changes, she put on quite the show for all viewers. Elise Doty (12) shares that she finds Glaser to be “hilarious” and “I loved all of her different outfits so much. They were all so unique and equally stunning. I don’t think I can pick a favorite.”
Aside from Nikki Glaser, many Hollywood stars walked the red carpet prior to the award ceremony, donning various distinct pieces from a multitude of designer brands. Although red carpet outfits are always a controversial topic of discussion amongst the media in regard to who stole the show, there were definitely a few fan-favorites this year.
From Teyana Taylor in custom Schiaparelli to Selena Gomez in a look by Chanel, social media was in awe of the gorgeous dresses that graced the carpet. Kayla Duke (12) expresses her adoration for Jennifer Lawrence’s floral decaled dress, stating “That was definitely the best look of the night in my opinion. I don’t think she’s ever worn anything like it, so maybe that’s why I love it so much.”
Not to mention, Michael B. Jordan’s brown Prada suit was an exceptional piece of attire, as was Owen Cooper’s Bottega greys, unlike all the other black suits that could be seen repeatedly on the carpet.
As far as the actual awards go, the most highly anticipated of the night include Best Motion Picture, Best Performance by a Female/Male Actor, and Best Performance by a Female/Male Actor in a Supporting Role. In the category of Best Motion Picture-Drama, “Hamnet” took home the award. Jessie Buckley, a member of the “Hamnet” cast, received the award for Best Performance by a Female Actor.
In the same category but for males, Wagner Moura’s performance in “The Secret Agent” won him that award. Moving towards supporting roles, Teyana Taylor and Stellan Skarsgård secured their honors for their work in their pieces.
Closing off the night, the 83rd annual Golden Globes was completed, and viewers at home had enough content to dissect for the following days to come. Opinions were shared, and statements were made. Whether positive or negative, our consumption of events such as the Golden Globes presents a sign of the importance that Hollywood holds over us.
