With the weather getting colder in December, many begin to bring out their scarves, jackets, and boots in order to stay warm. As new trends arrive and old trends resurface, winter fashion trends of 2025 reflect a blend of comfort and style.
The art of layering always elevates an outfit, and it can be done with scarves, gloves, jackets, and even jewelry. Scarves are definitely an essential for winter, and they can be worn in a variety of ways along with different colors and designs. However, this year, many are turning to blanket-sized scarves for a more dramatic and put-together look to their outfit. Gloves are a great way to keep warm as well, especially when it is snowing outside. There are many types of jackets that look amazing during winter, whether it be puffer jackets, leather jackets, or sherpa jackets. As always, jewelry is the perfect way to add a final touch to an outfit because it adds a more sophisticated look which allows for a more elegant finish.
Boots have been a staple piece in many people’s closets for decades. Any knee-high boots will not only provide warmth, but style as well. Leather has definitely been a trend all year-round for the year of 2025. Many tend to style these boots over tights or under long fur coats. Yaretzi Hernandez (12) explains, “I am obsessed with my boots, and I have been constantly wearing them since winter started.”
Monochrome outfits have also become trendy this year because many find it both quick and effortless to wear one color for the day. Monochrome outfits offer a clean and effortless look with many gravitating towards darker colors for this winter, such as burgundy, navy, and brown. Carter Gaiss (12) says, “I love wearing monochrome outfits because it’s the perfect balance between comfort and style.”
Recently, there has been a resurgence in faux fur detailing, which is a great way to add luxury and texture with a cruelty-free alternative to real fur. It is becoming extremely popular in the linings of fur coats, especially in neutral colors such as brown, white, and black. Faux fur can even be used on handbags and earmuffs to make a bold statement.
Overall, winter fashion has proved to be both comfortable, warm, and stylish. With trends frequently changing, it is important to remember that the best winter outfits have a balance of both warmth and thoughtful accessories.
