From the elementary, middle, and high school band parades to the chatter of local small business vendors, the community came together this weekend in celebrating Placentia’s 60th annual Heritage Festival at the Tri-City Park in Placentia, California!
Walking around the festival, there were activities for everyone to participate in. Multiple schools from the PYLUSD school district, as well as a few private schools, presented their marching bands, creating beautiful music that filled the event. Parents, supporters, as well as event participants gathered around to watch the product of hours of hard work from the talented children. In addition to the various talented marching bands, many of the local pageant winners also debuted at the annual festival. Local winners such as Miss. Placentia and Miss. Yorba Linda was seen.
In addition to the music festivities, the event was also packed with local vendors. From knitted goods to art pieces and traditional fair food, everything you would want was there! This event is significant for local small businesses. Jill Fisher (A), the co-owner of “Just Following Breadcrumbs”, a local small business selling custom-made sea glass and silverware jewelry, shared, “I think this event is great for small vendors like me to get their products out to the community. It’s our first time here and I have nothing but great things to say about this festival!”

For the young children, there was a giant play area with various activities. From jump houses to face painting and water walking balls, every kid was fascinated. Leah Cheng (10), a 5th-grade student at Golden Elementary, shared, “I love coming here with my friends every year because it’s super fun and there’s always a lot of things to do. I’m going to be here all day long!”
This festival really brought the community together in all aspects. A local Yorba Linda resident, Jessica Chen (A), explained, “I really do love coming here every year. It’s always a great time and I really enjoy being able to shop through all the local vendors and trying the different foods from the food trucks”. There is something for everyone to do, with each activity bringing the community closer.
