Throughout her 19 years as a songwriter and artist, Taylor Swift has achieved many milestones still unmatched by other artists. This past month, Swift became the first artist to win 9 VMA awards in just one night! Other artists, like Kanye West, have only won 7 in their career, showing how impactful Taylor’s music is on society.
On August 31st, Taylor Swift created history once again. The artist announced the release of her movie coming to the big screen in theaters across the globe, giving a full recap of her Eras Tour for all the swifties who lost the battle to TicketMaster. The filming for her movie was taken during her first three nights in Los Angeles at Sofi Stadium, so don’t be surprised if any of the Yorba Linda High School swifties are spotted in the crowd! On the days that the camera crew was filming, the bracelets left on the chairs for swifties were much larger to make the light productions look better. Many swifties who went to one of these nights are excited to see the movie in theaters on October 13th.
I only went to the Era’s Tour because my sister got tickets, but I actually enjoyed it a lot and I can’t wait to see the movie! Hopefully I am in it because I went on night 3! — Ashaan Sawnhey (12)
“As a swiftie, I cannot wait for the Eras Tour movie! I think I will faint if I am on the screen!” explains Rania Sawnhey (11).
Watch out! On Friday, October 13th, the theaters will be packed! It is best to purchase tickets in advance! This theater will not be very quiet like a normal one, except for 50-60 teen girls singing and dancing to Taylor Swift. AMC theaters are selling merchandise, such as Eras Tour popcorn buckets, and even handing out AMC friendship bracelets, a tradition started at the Eras Tour from one of Swift’s songs. Taylor Swift has already broken records with her first-day presales at AMC of 26 Million dollars! It is projected to make 100-125 Million dollars in just the first weekend!
Dhyani Balsara (11) says, “Buying tickets to the movie was almost as stressful as buying tickets to the show! I had to compete with other swifties who didn’t get the luxury of going to the Eras Tour, and it was scary!”
Many of our YLHS swifties are excited to see Taylor on the big screen and can’t wait to experience that unforgettable night again!
