“Out of This World” Homecoming: Something You Have To Know

ASB displaying the Homecoming theme this year: out of this world!

On Friday September 15 during the Roaming Rally, the YLHS annual homecoming theme was revealed. This year, students will be gearing up for an unforgettable, out of this world Homecoming celebration. Students, teachers, and staff members can connect through Homecoming night, with dance, food, and friends.

Homecoming ticket sales are starting on Monday, September 18, with a starting price of $45 for students who have an ASB card and $50 for students who don’t have an ASB card. Prices will keep rising until the day of homecoming, with $60 being the peak price, and only exact cash will be accepted for payment. If you have any questions or need more information, please don’t hesitate to ask the activities office. Additionally, remember that guess passes are due by October 11.

Regarding purchasing, tickets can be purchased at the activities office, before school, after school, during break, or lunch. In-person sales takes all forms of payment. To be mentioned, checks are not taking from October 9-13. The purchase lines are usually very long, so if there is not enough time for students to buy the ticket in-person, students can always buy tickets online with a card only.

The choice of the “Out of This World” theme is more than just a crazy idea; in contrast with last year’s theme, “A Night In Neverland,” which has characters and symbols from the movie like Peter Pan and Tinker Bell, this year’s theme leaves the students somewhat puzzled. “I don’t know what to wear, I haven’t even thought about it.” Ayianna Reed (10)

Don’t worry, the Wrangler can provide some ideas to base your outfit/costume off of.

  1. Milky Way: stars or planets’ colors such as blue, purple, silver, or yellow.
  2. Astronauts: space suits, space helmets, reflective sunglasses, and even space-themed badges.
  3. Interstellar: Celestial patterns decorations like stars, galaxies, or planet-shaped earrings, necklaces, etc.
  4. Alien: It could be anything, who knows if it exists.
  5. Science fiction movies: Get ideas from people who are in the movies like  “Star Trek”, “Star Wars”, and so on.
  6. Celestial accessories: star hairpins, celestial-themed ties, universe-themed makeup, etc.
  7. Group costumes: For example, the entire group dresses up as different planets or celestial bodies, or re-enacts famous space missions such as the Apollo moon landings.

Christine Serbu (10), another student in YLHS mentioned“…

I will wear a cute little cream dress. I could be a star or the moon.

— Christine Serbu (10)

.”

Yorba Linda High School’s “Out of This World” homecoming theme is more than just an event; it’s an opportunity for students to escape the ordinary, embrace their dreams, and express their unique personalities. As they dance under the stars and explore the far corners of the galaxy, they’ll find the inspiration to reach their own star, making this homecoming truly out of this world.

Homecoming is from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on October 14th. Tickets sell quickly, and prices are rising fast, so purchase it before it gets expensive. May each students’ dance night be filled with joy and unforgettable moments, and may their starts lead them to great success.
