Most people have heard the name Beyoncé a few times before, and maybe recently more than ever, with the ongoing controversy regarding her husband, Jay-Z, and his friend Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs that has many questioning their fan status. When asked of her own feelings toward Beyoncé, Grace Acevedo (9) said, “Not a fan, probably never will be.”
The Crazy In Love singer has amassed over thirty Grammy wins and nearly one hundred total nominations over her thirty-year career, holding the record for most of both (Grammy). Her celebrity career started with her role as lead singer in famous R&B group Destiny’s Child. Previous to the group’s disbandment in 2006, Beyoncé made her solo debut in 2003 with her album Dangerously In Love, containing some of her biggest hit songs, Crazy In Love and Baby Boy. Since then, she’s released thirteen more albums, acted in multiple films including her most recent feature on Mufasa: The Lion King alongside daughter Blue Ivy Carter (Variety), and even formed a new music duo with husband Jay-Z (Google).
Some fans, called the Beyhive, still remain proud supporters amid other recent Beyoncé events, such as her halftime show for the Christmas Texans-Ravens game. During her performance, she debuted live renditions of songs from her newest album, Cowboy Carter, reflecting on her upbringing in the South. Additionally, she brought out a few guest singers to help her with the performances, including country singers Tanner Addlell, Brittany Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, and Reyna Robert. Even her twelve year old daughter, Blue Ivy, made an appearance to dance with her mother (Independent). Beyoncé’s best surprise, however, had to be the teaser she announced on her Instagram story the day of the event.

The teaser seemed to be hinting at a new album, possibly a continuation of Cowboy Carter, featuring a clip of Beyoncé in a similar outfit and pose to her Cowboy Carter album cover and a line of text simply reading, ‘1.14.25’ (NBC News). However, that day has already past. So what happened to Beyoncé’s special announcement?
On January 14th, the day she was supposed to share what her teaser would bring, she instead shared a new post announcing her decision to postpone her news. She cited respect for those bracing the Los Angeles fires as her reason for postponing. As of now, the ‘later date’ she would be postponing her announcement to is to be determined, leaving many of her fans waiting in anticipation (NBC News).
