When We Were Young Festival

The groundbreaking, world quaking, earth shattering, life changing, thrilling When We Were Young music festival is back again. Fans could not be more excited!
The first When We Were Young festival was a big success! This took place on October 21st, 2022. At the Las Vegas Festival Grounds. This show had an incredible line up to say the least, some headliners included: My Chemical Romance, Paramore, AFI, The Used, Jimmy Eat World, Avril Lavigne, Dashboard Confessional, Taking Back Sunday, Bring Me The Horizon, Alkaline Trio, A Day To Remember, and many many more.
Fans were so excited that they crashed ticket-selling websites just trying to purchase tickets. Many fans were frustrated at the fact that they would not be able to see their favorite bands back together and all in one place. The small number of fortunate fans that were able to buy tickets were totally stoked! But little did they know that the first day (of 2 total days) would be canceled due to dangerous winds. On the first day of the festival “large crowds of excited fans were already lined up outside the gates of the Las Vegas Festival Grounds at 10:30 a.m. when an email was sent to attendees announcing that Saturday was canceled due to a high wind warning issued by the National Weather Service. The “dangerous 30-40 mph sustained winds with potential 60 mph gusts” were unsafe for artists, staff, and attendees, so the festival organizers were forced to cancel the first day, promising full refunds to ticket holders in a month” (EW.COM).
The show still went on the following day and the fun started! It was a great success and brought joy to people around the world. Photos and videos were shared throughout the internet of the outstanding performances and crazy fans.
A glimpse of hope was seen by fans who were not able to attend the concert in October, on Wednesday, February 22nd, 2023 when the official When We Were Young instagram account posted a photo of the new line up for the new show! The caption reads “do you know what’s better than 1 WWWY fest?…. 2 WWWY fests. Second show added, same lineup. Register now for the presale that starts Friday, February 24th, 2PM PT.” One student, Kayleen Grimes (11), says “I really wanted to attend this festival! I love so many of the bands performing. I just wish the tickets were less expensive.”

The internet went crazy yet again once they received this news. These headliners are also so spectacular: Green Day, Blink-182, 30 Seconds To Mars, Sum 41, The Offspring, Good Charlotte, Rise Against, 5 Seconds of Summer, Yellowcard, New Found Glory, MXPX, Simple Plan, Less Than Jake, Bowling For Soup, Waterparks, All Time Low, Plain White Ts, Goldfinger, Saves The Day, Motion City Soundtrack, Beach Bunny, Thrice, Say Anything, Lit, The Academy Is…, No Pressure, Games We Play, and many more well loved and up-and-coming bands.
The fanbase for these bands and artists are elated to see what they have in store for this event. This second round of the festival is sure to be great! Make sure to try and secure tickets on February 24th!
