There are so many great ways to celebrate the holidays at home. Spending time at home can be very cozy and can create new memories. It also creates the ability to spend time with family and friends.

A great way to spend the holidays at home is to watch movies. Grab some snacks and delicious treats and enjoy a variety of holiday movies, such as Home Alone, Elf, the Grinch, and many more.

While watching movies or just spending time with relatives, you can make so many treats and delicious foods. It is so fun to spend time in the kitchen making something as simple as hot chocolate, rice krispy treats, cookies,  gingerbread houses…the possibilities are endless! It is easy to find some great recipes online for anything. You can even make winter and holiday themed treats, such as snowman cookies and many other creative things.

Spending time with family at home can be great for friendly competition.

I always seem to have the best time during winter break when I am doing something with my family.

There are countless ways to compete with family in the holiday season, such as a gingerbread house competition, a cookie decorating competition,  a house decorating competition, or any other crafty competition.

Another great way to spend time during the holidays is going through neighborhoods and looking at the beautiful Christmas lights and variety of decorations. You can read Faith Desio’s article about local places to visit Christmas Lights for more information.

Listening to holiday music is a great way to enjoy the holiday spirit and make the most of this time of year. While cooking, baking, or enjoying any other holiday activities, music is sure to craft a Christmassy mood. Some of the most popular Christmas songs are “All I Want for Christmas is You” by Mariah Carey, “Last Christmas” by Wham! And “It’s Beginning to Look a Lot Like Christmas” by Michael Bublé, to name a few.

Decorating the house can be an exciting bonding activity. Going shopping or reusing decorations can produce great memories.. It is also so exciting to make decorations by spending time doing arts and crafts with loved ones.
