On October 3rd, 2022, Marvel Studios dropped their newest trailer for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, raking in millions of views and intriguing the interests of fans across the world. From clues of Marvel’s next big step and taking to the first look at the characters such as Iron Heart and Namor, the trailer did not disappoint!

Fans have been especially excited for Marvel’s newest project since it was first announced back in 2019! The first Black Panther movie was an instant hit, both in the box office and in the hearts of fans. The film even earned a spot on the chart of highest-grossing movies of all time and continues to be loved by many (BOXOFFICEMOJO). The overwhelming love for the characters, unique settings, sound track, outstanding visual effects, humor, themes, and overall message made such an impact on the world, quickly becoming a favorite to millions.

I loved the first Black Panther movie! I remember watching it on opening day and being blown away! I can’t wait for the second one.

— Ryan Gary (11)

One student, Ryan Gary (11), recalls his reaction to the first Black Panther movie, saying “I loved the first Black Panther movie! I remember watching it on opening day and being blown away! I can’t wait for the second one.”

The characters were relatable and loveable with spectacular origin stories, not to mention the strong acting performances by all the cast.

The newest trailer shows fans that there is now a new Black Panther – Shuri. This new role is sure to present itself in hardships and in many difficult decisions. Plot twists should include new villains as well as fans getting to see a peak of Shuri’s new Black Panther suit. The sleek design and cutting edge vibranium is sure to give Shuri an advantage against villains.

One of the newest villains featured in the new Black Panther movies includes Namor. In fact, Marvel changed Namor’s origin from its original – instead of coming from Atlantis, he comes from central America. The studio decided to go the latter route because the former is “too similar” to Aquaman, a DC superhero, and didn’t want to cause any further legal issues, even though the character Namor was created before Aquaman. The character is said to be more of an “anti-hero” than a villain. The actor who plays Namor, Tenoch Huerta, said “maybe the most important twist in the character is that he’s not a selfish person. He’s taking care of a community. He’s not an individualist. He’s part of a tribe” (ENTERTAINMENTWEEKLY). This is sure to be an interesting aspect of the film!

This film is guaranteed to be a hit! The excitement is already here, and audiences are impatiently waiting for the release of the newest Black Panther!
