On December 31st, 2021, the world lost a beloved and cherished jem, Betty White. Betty lived a jam-packed life full of opportunities, events, and positivity that lasted her 99 years. The world was surprised to hear the shocking news of her death but were thankful that she passed away due to natural causes. The icon impacted and shaped many lives and created many happy memories.

Betty White starred in many movies, TV shows, and even wrote several books. Mrs. White was planning to throw a big birthday bash special for her 100th birthday in January. This movie, Betty White: 100 Years Young, was supposed to come to theaters on January 17th, 2022. She definitely left her mark on the world in a positive and kind way. One student, Carlie Nelson (10) says “I loved how Betty White always had a smile on her face and a positive attitude.” In fact, Betty very rarely was ever in a negative eye. Both before and after her death, people only had good things to say about her. She lived an unproblematic life full of joy, and she infected others with her brightness and positivity.

Fans, celebrities, and Betty’s loved ones took to Twitter to share some of their favorite memories of her:

“To close 2021 we want to take a look back at our best posts of the year. Our #4 post is from January. ‘Happy belated 99th birthday to American Icon Betty White. Did you know Ms. White served during WWII as a member of the American Women’s Voluntary Services (AWVS)?’” (ArmyChicago via Twitter).

“I hosted one of the many attempted reboots of the Pyramid game show in 2010 and Betty was a celebrity guest. The only thing she asked for all day was two bean and cheese burritos from Taco Bell” (Andy Richter via Twitter).

“During my 2 seasons on Golden Girls, I only spoke to Betty White once. 20 years later she came in to ‘Family Guy,’ I walked up to her and said “I’m sure you don’t remember me…” and she said ‘Of course, I remember you, David Goodman! I loved the writers!’ No one better. RIP” (David A. Goodman via Twitter).

“Once I was in a Beverly Hills restaurant & Betty White sat down at the table next to mine. I didn’t want to bother her. But after a few minutes, she tapped me on the shoulder and with that radiant smile said ‘Hello! I’m Betty White.’ People don’t do that in BH. I just love her” (Mia Farrow via Twitter).

In conclusion, Betty White was and will live on as a radiant and infectious being. Her inspiring personality and positive mindset made her so special. Make sure to take note of Betty’s lifestyle and learn from her actions. If we were all just a little more like Betty White, the world would be such a better place.
