Sophomore year is one of the toughest throughout one’s high school career. This is where everything from grades to athletics really starts to matter. It is quite stressful, but for Vaani Gandhi, her impressive time management skills and ability to think positively have helped her remain (almost) stress-free.

Her optimistic personality has her dreaming big. Ever since she was a young girl, Vaani has dreamed of studying law at UCLA. She knows it will be tough, but when she puts her mind to something, nothing will stop her from achieving what she wants. She understands that “[she] might have to wait a couple of years after high school to go to her dream university, but it will be worth the wait and dedication”.

As a freshman, Vaani was on the volleyball team and had been playing for years before. This year, she decided to get out of her comfort zone and try something new. She is currently a member of the track team where she competes Varsity level as a sprinter. With sprinting being a fairly new sport for her, Vaani states,”At first I didn’t know what was expected of me, so the first couple of weeks I was really nervous.” Although she says it was nerve-wracking at first, no one would ever know she lacked even a bit of confidence. Even with that little drawback, Vaani perseverance helped her to become one of the top competitors in her event and admired greatly by the coaches. Vaani is quite busy, but her passion in the sport she plays has kept her to be proficient.

Along with excelling at track and volleyball, Vaani is also a great student. Her workload is very heavy and sports take up plenty of her time, but she puts her mind to what she needs to do and gets it done. She has been in CSF since she was a freshman and is in NHS this year, showing that she is very dedicated. Vaani’s drive to do well in everything has kept her with impressive grades.

When she’s not busy with school or sports, Vaani takes pleasure in shopping, hanging out with friends and family or just kicking back and watching a good movie.
