On April 12 through April 15, the Yorba Linda chapter of FBLA attended the 2018 State Leadership Conference hosted at the Ontario Convention Center.

FBLA stands for Future Business Leaders of America. It is an organization run by students and adults to emulate the business world.

20 members competed across different events that FBLA had to offer. In the end the chapter won multiple awards. Rachel Allsup(11) and Sydnie Chin(11) won third place in digital video production. Sarah Chen(10), Janet Han(10), and Alice Ding(10) won third place Introduction to Business Presentation. Dylan Shih(9) placed third in introduction to financial math, and Wayne Chan(11) placed first in impromptu speaking.

The above students are competing at the FBLA national leadership conference at the end of June in Baltimore, Maryland.

Emily Remer(11) was inducted as the Southern Section state officer overseeing the 40 chapters of the Southern Section.

Simran Chowdhry(12) said FBLA “has been a wonderful experience. It has been wonderful being a board member of the Yorba Linda high school chapter.”
