Arezu Monshizadeh (10) is a YLHS student that goes way above and way beyond everyone’s expectations. With her amazing passion in everything she does and her kind-spirited personality, Arezu can truly do anything she wants to do. So far, during her high school career she has accomplished plenty and although it has been very stressful, being the person she is, Arezu can take on anything and everything that comes her way.

Arezu is one of the brightest students in the sophomore class. She is a straight A student, and is taking a very difficult AP class which is adding on to a lot of work sophomore year already brings. Last semester, she excelled in AP Euro, Honors Chemistry and all of her other Honors classes. Her workload is very heavy and volunteering take up plenty of her time, but she puts her mind to what she needs to do and gets it done. She has been in CSF since she was a freshman and NHS right now as a sophomore, showing that she is very dedicated. Arezu’s drive to do well in everything has kept her with impressive grades and an above average GPA of 4.6.

Along with her academic excellence, Arezu is also involved in many extracurricular classes and activites. She is in Mock Trial, taking on the job as a witness on the defense team. She practices 12 hours a week, every week for two months and after that, Yorba Linda’s team goes against another team in court. Where Arezu really shines is with her generosity and care for the community. Arezu volunteers 3 times a week at 3 different places. She volunteers at “Big Sister” and acts as a mentor for one child chosen to be her “little sister”. She also volunteers at Higher Grounds where she helps “at risk” youth and at St. Joseph hospital where she helps out on the labor and delivery floor.

When she’s not busy with school or volunteering, Arezu takes pleasure in playing soccer, shopping, hanging out with friends and family or just kicking back and watching a good movie. She is also a phenomenal artist and tries to paint to de-stress when she has free time.

In the future, Arezu aims to attend an Ivy League school and then follow up by attending a medical school to become a plastic surgeon because that has always been her dream. Ava Malakooti (10) explains, “Arezu and I have been friends for as long as I remember and she’s always had this drive to be great at everything she does.” Arezu Monshizadeh is an outstanding student, devoted friend, charitable citizen, and so much more. She is prepared and excited for the next two years at YLHS and keeping up with all her classes and well as continuing her passion for helping others.
