On January 18, 2023, one of our star players and captains for the Yorba Linda High School Football team, Wyatt Mosier, took a trip to UCLA and met with the head coach for Bruins Football. He later tweeted, “After a great in-person meeting with Chip Kelly on campus today, I am beyond grateful and proud to say that I have received an offer to play football.”

About two weeks later, a big decision was made. Wyatt announced his commitment on January 31, 2023, with an Instagram and Twitter post.

The Twitter post stated, “The decision has been made. For the next four years, I will be a Bruin. Thank you, @DeshaunFoster26 and @EthanYoungFB, for helping me through the process.” Soon after, he posted on Instagram with the caption, “Thank you, coaches, trainers, teammates, friends, and family, for your support over the years. Because of you, I get to continue playing the sport I love while furthering my education at UCLA! Staying committed and focused brought me a championship at YLHS. I’ll bring the same level of commitment and focus to the BRUINS.”

With a life-changing decision, there are many things to take into consideration, and Wyatt did just that. Wyatt Mosier (12) states, “I decided to go to UCLA because it had all the check boxes I valued in a college: the ability to play football, a good education, and a fun location. I am excited to be a part of the team and work to play in the following years.”

Wyatt Mosier has had a successful career in high school football as a linebacker. As a captain, he motivated and pushed the team to do their best, and he owes that to Coach Bailey. Mosier (12) states, “Coach Bailey has not only helped make me into the player I am today, but also the leader I am today.” Constantly working and proving himself at practice led to him showing his dominance on the field every game. Teammate Jackson Reiter (12) states, “Wyatt deserves this because he works harder than anyone I know. His desire alone shows he is meant to do great things, and I am so proud of him. I definitely wouldn’t have played football if I hadn’t met Wyatt, so he has been changing lives on and off the field.”

Coach Aed, the defense coach at Yorba Linda High School, has allowed Wyatt “the freedom to prove [himself] and lead the defense to the CIF championship,” stated Wyatt Mosier (12). Mosier played with the football program all four years and even helped lead the football team to the CIF championship game. Ending his high school career as a stellar player, captain, and D3 champion, he deserves all of this.

Wyatt’s teammates, coaches, family, and friends could not be more proud of him. His teammates express how proud they are of him and what it was like playing next to him every day for the past four years. Jackson Reiter (12) explains, “His football IQ was like no one else on the team. It was insane. He knew how to move, when to move, and it was meant for the next level.” Another teammate Nicco Nicoletti (12), adds, “when on the field with Wyatt, the game just felt controlled, which helped boost the confidence of the teammates around.” Lastly, former UCLA player and Wyatt’s high school head coach, Coach Bailey (S), expresses, “So proud of Wyatt! His hard work paid off. Go, Bruins!”

To say the least, Wyatt Mosier has made a name for himself in Yorba Linda High School, Orange County, and now to the world. Throughout his lifetime, his parents were his biggest inspiration, “My dad played D1 football, and when I was a kid, that was my goal that I decided I wanted to achieve.” Congratulations, Wyatt Mosier, on committing to UCLA and Go Bruins! You accomplished your dream, and Yorba Linda High School staff, student body, coaches, family, and friends could not be more proud of you.
