For most, shows such as Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place, The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, and Girl Meets World bring back precious childhood memories. Such popularity for these shows came from the funny plot and amazing acting by the actors, mostly children or teens. Yet, overtime the epitome of old 2000 shows diminished and the actors grew up to be either a mess or successful individuals. Amber Li (10) says, “being a celebrity can be fun, but it can also affect their emotional growth.” Listed below are the lives of just some childhood actors and actresses after their childhood fame.

Miley Cyrus (aka Hannah Montana) -Who didn’t love the hit musical TV show, Hannah Montana? It had catchy music, and a plot that every little girl can relate to, being a famous pop star. From this TV show, Miley Cyrus was recognized and acknowledged for her humorous acting and beautiful voice. Yet, probably the most shocking of transitions come from the unique 360 turn from innocent Hannah Montana to wild and risky Miley Cyrus. Her hit songs, including “Wrecking Ball,” “We can’t stop,” and “Adore You” clearly declared the Hannah Montana of the past is no longer a reality. Currently, she is a well-known singer and the founder of the Happy Hippie foundation which encouraged the fight for homeless youth, LGBTQ community, and women’s rights.

Selena Gomez – “Everything is not what it seems,” a popular line from the theme song of Wizards of Waverly Place. True to its words, everything is surely not what it seems when it comes to Selena Gomez. She has transformed herself into a well-rounded individual creating hit songs of her own, traveling the world, and  not to mention getting over her breakup/scandal with Justin Bieber.

Dylan and Cole Sprouse – The main stars of the show The Suite Life of Zack and Cody, Dylan and Cole Sprouse have been the sweetheart of many girls’ dreams. Today, they are keeping a low profile and can only be noted through an active Instagram. For now, Dylan Sprouse joined the cast of a video game, Reborn, and is set to appear on a film called Dismissed. Cole, on the other hand, is said to have branched off into writing and working on scripts of his own.

Macaulay Culkin – The iconic boy of Home Alone had a rather hard downfall after the end of Home Alone. He became hooked on several drugs and his multi millionaire money was no more. In fact, his drug addiction became so serious it was affecting his health, lifestyle, and what used to be his multi millionaire money.

Amanda Bynes – Amanda is another childhood actress gone wrong. She starred in the shows like All that, The Amanda Show, What a Girl Wants, and Hairspray, but her fame quickly became something else. She began doing drugs, was arrested for multiple hit and runs, and was held in a psychiatric ward for her reckless behavior.

Childhood hit TV shows may have diminished from the spotlight, but  the child actresses and actors that starred in these show have been constantly evolving.
