As summer is right around the corner, you may be looking for a new refreshing drink to get you through the California heat. From a nice warm coffee to a cute little cake pop, Starbucks has a variety of new summer options for you. However, Starbucks can come out to be a little pricey, so I’m here to tell you if these drinks are worth it.

For each drink, I ordered a grande, which came to a total of $17.40 (including the cake pop). Here is my brutally honest review of the Green Apron Blend, White Macadamia Nut Cold Brew, Chocolate Java Mint Frappuccino, and the Bumblebee Cake Pop. Keep in mind, I am not a big fan of coffee!

Starting with the Green Apron Blend, it is a half-and-half blend of coffees from Latin America and Africa. The drink was incredibly strong and bitter for me. Obviously having add-ons helped, but the taste was simply still too strong for me. I did not enjoy it whatsoever, and it seemed like a regular coffee to me. I would rate this drink a 2/10, also keep in mind, it is a hot drink, which is not ideal for the summer. However, if you are a coffee enthusiast, you may still enjoy it.

Next is the Macadamia Nut Cold Brew, which is a cold brew topped with all macadamia flavors. The drink itself was pretty standard, but I enjoyed it. The macadamia cream cold foam was refreshing, but my favorite part was the macadamia bits in the drink. It added a nice crunch to the drink, without giving a crazy texture. I gave this drink an overall 6/10. Again, not a fan of coffee, but I did like this twist to the cold brew. I highly recommend it if you’re a coffee drinker, but please be careful if you have a nut allergy![

When I go to Starbucks I see so many of my friends getting Starbucks and it becomes more of a social experience than just for the drinks, but I still like to get my iced matcha latte.

Our last drink is the Chocolate Java Mint Frappuccino, which combines coffee, chocolate, and mints. As someone with a big sweet tooth, I really enjoyed this drink. The bitter taste of coffee was covered by the chocolate, and the minty taste added a nice pop of flavor. I would rate this an 8/10. If you enjoy mint chocolate chip ice cream, you will most likely enjoy this too. It’s a nice frappuccino to keep you cool in the summer too.

Lastly, I ordered the Bumblebee Cake Pop. It’s a vanilla cake pop covered in chocolate icing. The design was cute, and it slightly resembled a cat. Although simple, it is a nice light snack if you’re studying or just need something quick. I would rate it a 7.5/10.

Despite the drinks at Starbucks being pretty basic, people still continue to buy them. Although it may just be a “trend”, the drinks are quick and they have a variety of options.
