Crumbl Cookies is a popular cookie company that has been recently garnering a large amount of attention. Two cousins, Sawyer Hemsley and Jason McGowan, went on a quest to find the perfect cookie, and “after thousands of dollars of wasted dough,” they went to a gas station to ask random people to choose between two cookies that they provided. After receiving the public’s opinion and testing more recipes, “they came up with what they believe to be the world’s best chocolate chip cookie.” Then, in 2017, they established their first store in Logan, Utah, and now, there are “over 175 locations in 31 states, nationwide.” They also serve a variety of ice cream flavors, such as Vanilla, Hot Chocolate, Peanut Butter Chocolate, and Sea Salt Toffee.

There are many aspects of their store that make them unique compared to other cookie companies: their rotating menu, their “famous pink box,” and their freshly baked cookies. Every week, they have a new menu with four unique specialty cookies that rotate every week and two cookies that stay the same every week, their milk chocolate chip cookie and their chilled sugar cookie. For example, during the week of May 17, they served a churro cookie, a berry crunch cookie, a peanut butter chocolate chip cookie, and a german chocolate cake cookie–as well as their milk chocolate chip cookie and their chilled sugar cookie. Also, their pink box was developed by Hemsley, and it consists of four different sizes: a single pack, a four-pack, a six-pack, and a twelve-pack. To add, all of their cookies are baked fresh daily, and customers can see the process of making their cookies in their unique open kitchen (crumblcookies.com). The owners of Crumbl Cookies believe that they have the best cookies in the world, but are they really worth the hype? 

Many students at Yorba Linda High School tried these popular cookies. Dhamar Hernandez (11) believes that some cookies are “worth the hype” while other cookies are “just okay.” She recommends the milk chocolate chip cookie. Sarina Patel (9) thinks the “cookies were good,” and they are “very sweet.” She says that she will definitely go there again when she gets the chance. Joyce Lin (11) thinks the cookies are “good overall because they are freshly made” and thinks the “fact that they change flavors each week is pretty cool.” My family and I have gone to Crumbl Cookies for the past few weeks, and we personally love their cookies. Every week, we are excited to try the new flavors, and I have followed them on social media to keep up-to-date on the new cookies they are serving every week. 

If you want to try Crumbl Cookies, in Orange County, there are locations in Brea and La Habra. For one cookie, it costs $4.25, but as you buy larger boxes, the price of a single cookie goes down. Additionally, you can order them through the curbside pickup, delivery, and nationwide shipping with their app “Crumbl Cookies” in the app store.
