I know the sky is blue and oxygen is the air I breathe,
I’ve learned everything from literature to chemistry,
Shouldn’t I now know what the future holds,
After so much time having dreams and setting goals?
In this room everyone seems to know,
what they want to do, where they want to go.
Their surely smile makes me naive, but it does not take long to realize that they are all just like me.
They too are unsure of who they are and what they are made for,
But it is in this place we are able to explore,
The boundaries of our imagination and drive,
During the four years we fearlessly survive.
Stumbling along the road to identity,
I’ve come to realize there’s no finish line, no ending.
The game we play is everlasting,
There is no shortcut to finding your belonging or your calling.
So fasten your seatbelt and enjoy the ride,
Trust that you are right were you are supposed to be,
We are all Mustangs and for that we should take pride,
To be a part of a community nurturing a new generation of leaders the world has yet to see.
