Most Anticipated Young Adult Books Of 2017

In 2017 many new books in the young adult fiction genre are being released including the finales to popular series and books by debuting authors. “2016 was an exciting year for the young adult genre. But 2017 is about to go bigger and better with new adventures from popular YA authors like Veronica Roth and Madeleine Roux, and continuing series from Sarah J. Maas, Victoria Schwab and more,” stated Pop Crush. Here is a list of the most anticipated young adult books that will be released in 2017.
- Carve The Mark, by Veronica Roth, the author of the Divergent series, is about a planet where everyone has a power also known as a currentgift. The story follows two teenagers, Crya, the sister of the cruel leader of her country, and Akos, a boy from a peaceful country who is kidnapped along with his brother by Cyra’s brother’s civilization, as reported by Harper Collins.
- The final installment in the A Court of Thorns and Roses trilogy by the popular young adult author, Sarah J. Maas, will be released in May, 2017. Titled A Court of Wings and Ruin, the story is about the main character, Feyre at the spring court, “…determined to gather information on Tamlin’s maneuverings and the invading king threatening to bring Prythian to its knees,” according to Goodreads.
- Carnival by Stephanie Garber is about two sisters, Scarlett and Tella, who live on a small island with their abusive father. Scarlett has always wanted to be part of the annual carnival where the audience is part of the game. Tella takes Scarlett to the carnival and Tella is kidnapped by the leader of the carnival and hidden. The year’s carnival will be a search for Tella and the first person to find her will be named the winner.
- The Red Queen series by Victoria Aveyard is coming to an end with the last book as Kings Cage. “In this breathless third installment to Victoria Aveyard’s bestselling Red Queen series, allegiances are tested on every side. And when the Lightning Girl’s spark is gone, who will light the way for the rebellion?” stated Goodreads.
- In Goodbye Days by Jeff Zentmer, Carter texts while driving which gets into a crash, killing the three friends with him in the car. The authorities are suspicious and Carver might face a criminal investigation. He has trouble forgiving himself for what he has done and suffers from anxiety according to Paste.
“Carve the mark seems very interesting and I have always been interested in Divergent which is by the same author. I love the author and I love reading her books,” states Alhees Basharmal (9).
