quick and easy halloween costume: Angel and Devil!

Everyone knows that feeling when you and your friends are trying to devise a costume idea for Halloween quickly. It can be stressful and time-consuming. It feels like there is nothing quick and easy to get last minute. Fara Ebrahimi (11) told the Wrangler the key to planning a last-minute costume: “Use stuff you already have at home, be creative, and look on Pinterest!!”

However, don’t worry because many of our Yorba Linda High School students have some advice on quick and easy Halloween costumes.

1. Angel & Devil

A classic Halloween costume that you could never do wrong! All you need for an angel/devil costume is a red or white dress and a halo/devil horns headpiece! If you are trying to dress up as a trio, it is effortless to add a dark angel into the angel/devil duo! Yorba Linda student Jennalyn Urquico (11) told the Wrangler, “Last year, me and my friends were invited to a Halloween party the day before, and we pulled an angel, devil, and dark angel costume all the night before!” As one can see, this costume idea is very simple and easy to put together.

2. Pirates

Another last-minute Halloween costume you can do is a pirate! All you need for this look is a white flowy dress, a belt or corset if you have one, some boots, and a hat! This costume can be done solo or with a group; it’s cute!

3. Barbie!

The movie that took the world by storm this summer is Barbie. With Barbie’s rising popularity and simplistic costume, it will be one for the books! Makenna Maloof (10) previously dressed up as Barbie: “It was super easy; I found a pair of hot pink shorts and a white tank top, then had my mom use her Cricut machine to put “Barbie” onto my top in hot pink letters.” That is just one way to dress up as the iconic doll; there are so many variations of the doll! Wear anything pink, and you can call yourself Barbie!

4. Men in Black

Following Yorba Linda High School’s 2023 Homecoming football game theme of Men in Black, Many students at YLHS wore white tank tops, a black loose tie, and black mini skirts, and some added a blazer if they had one! To tie the whole look together is a pair of black sunglasses, and there you have it: a Men in Black costume! Faith Alam (11), a current Junior at YLHS, expressed, “Men in Black may seem hard at first, but all you need is a tie, and the rest of the costume is easy to find!”

5. Taylor Swift

You may be thinking: how do I dress up as Taylor Swift? Well, it’s pretty simple. Within one of her many notable music videos, “You Belong with Me,” she wears an iconic t-shirt that you could make at home! All one would have to do to make her shirt is find a plain white shirt, write junior jewels on the front, and decorate it with an abundance of “signatures” on the whole shirt! Then, add some plaid pajama pants, and you’re done!

With all the ideas mentioned above, it is super easy to think of a Halloween costume on short notice, and hopefully, this article can help you or your friends think of some cute ideas for your next Halloween party!
