Why the heck are chunky digital cameras back in style when almost every person in the world has a camera attached to their phone and readily available in their pocket? The “nostalgia” and “vibe” of a digital camera is completely different from the standard iPhone camera. Although the quality may not be as good, the grainy exposure and dynamic that the digital camera produces is very unique. In fact, it’s this distinct texturing that is making these old school cameras make a comeback.
Social media plays a huge role in why vintage cameras are making a comeback. The 2000’s style seems to be coming back to the fashion world once again. So why not bring back some 2000’s technology while we are at it? Digital photography is popping up more and more on social media platforms such as Instagram, Pinterest, VSCO, and even a small Tumblr revamp. The aesthetic of the digital photos stands out greatly compared to the “normal” photos people are used to seeing. You can easily tell when a picture was taken on a digital camera.
There is also a coolness factor in bringing a digital camera to events. It is common to see digital photos from parties and school dances. “Hey let me get a photo” – everyone. I’m so so glad that this trend is coming back!! I love this article and how it explains all the different uses and facets of the digital camera. The 2000’s style is so cute and there definitely is a “coolness factor” with others. For example, bestie Caydence in ASB has a digital Instagram account. It is cute and everyone enjoys it.

I LOVE using my digital camera at parties! Sometimes it’s tedious work getting everyone’s photos to them as soon as possible, but it’s worth it in the end. I think my entire Instagram feed is digital camera photos now!
