Smell is a potent wizard that transports you across thousands of miles and all the years you have lived. The famous quote of Helen Killer tells how important the sense of smell is to us all. Many people wear signature perfumes that remind others of them every time they smell something similar, almost as if they have a certain scent linked to them. Though you may not realize, the way someone smells plays a big part in your first impression of them. So let’s talk about it. What does your perfume scent say about you?

It’s a good everyday signature scent

One of the most popular women’s perfume scents is floral. Some of the most popular floral scents are CHANCE EAU TENDRE Eau de Toilette and COCO MADEMOISELLE Eau de Parfum by Chanel, Daisy by Marc Jacobs, and Light Blue Eau de Toilette by Dolce&Gabbana. Dana Joo (9) wears Daisy by Marc Jacobs. She likes this specific perfume because, “It’s a good everyday signature scent.” If you’re drawn to the scents of rose, jasmin, and lily it’s suggested that you’re more in touch with your feminine and romantic side. People who wear floral scents are often thought of as gentle and friendly. It’s a good everyday signature scent

Another popular scent group is warm and spicy. Popular perfumes from this scent group consist of You Eau de Parfum by Glossier, Black Opium Eau de Parfum by Yves Saint Laurent, and Flowerbomb by Victor and Rolf. These perfumes have deep undertones like rich vanilla, sandalwood, and amber. These scents give off a mysterious, sophisticated, and luxurious vibe.

Fresh smelling perfumes are also quite popular these days. The best selling ones being ‘REPLICA’ Beach Walk and Lust For Sun Eau de Parfum by Juliette Has a Gun. Often these fresh scents have a citrus undertone. They give off a summer-ry, playful, and youthful vibe to people who wear them.

Last but not least, woody scents. These might also be referred to as earthy as you can often smell some type of nature. A popular perfume in this category include Wood Sage & Sea Salt Cologne by Jo Malone. People who wear perfumes in this scent family are often more calm and appreciate the simpler things in life. These people are often seen as relatable and approachable.

It’s fun to know the association of what perfume you wear to what people think of you. However, like all else it isn’t 100% accurate and set in stone. What is your favorite scent family and signature scent?
