What your favorite Holiday movie says about you

What+your+favorite+Holiday+movie+says+about+you

Snuggle up in your warmest blankets, folks; it’s the holiday season! No matter what you celebrate, movies of all kinds can help bring families together during this season. Cinema helps set the tone of the holiday season, and I am willing to argue that your favorites say a little something about you as a person…

Home Alone:
If you say Home Alone is your favorite holiday movie, you are most likely obsessed with the nostalgia and idea of Christmas. You probably enjoy cuddling on the couch in your pajamas, watching holiday movies, and decorating your house from head to toe over the winter break.

How The Grinch Stole Christmas or The Grinch:
Both of these movies are absolute gold. The original How The Grinch Stole Christmas is a masterpiece, and if you are a fan, you are likely a holiday gem. You are an optimistic soul who chooses to see the best in everyone and give people second chances. Similarly, if the animated version is your top holiday movie, you are probably just a huge fan of Tyler, The Creator (as you should be).

Elf:
The Nightmare Before Christmas:
If you consider this a Christmas movie… the holiday season is not for you. You are a big fan of Halloween, believe it to be overhyped, and think its season should be extended.

The Polar Express:
You probably watched The Polar Express once during an elementary holiday party and have been hooked ever since. You likely will defend this movie under any circumstance and have created your own bias for it.

Christmas With the Kranks:

Wow, there are no surprises here if you are an Elf fan. In my opinion, it has its funny moments, but the movie in general is not enough. The plot line is boring, and whatever; you can say I have no sense of humor, but it’s genuinely just bland. Isabella Colin (12) states that Elf is her favorite holiday movie because “I think it’s funny, the romance is cute, and I like the nostalgia surrounding it.” That’s a choice. I will say that watching this movie once every five years is worth it, but you will not catch me watching it often.

I think it’s funny, the romance is cute, and I like the nostalgia surrounding it.

— Isabella Colin (12)

You are perfect. (This is my favorite Holiday movie.) I’m kidding… this is not a very popular movie; however, like The Polar Express, you probably watched this once as a kid and got hooked; good for you!
Alright, your favorite holiday movie does not define you, and feel free to agree or disagree with my opinions, but I mean, come on… I’m not entirely off course.
