NFL Recap
September 28, 2015
The NFL season has begun. Pool parties with 20 of your dad’s closest friends have begun as well. One after one they pile into your living room, all crowded around the TV. Nacho cheese and liters of soda in hand, these men come jeering and hollering. What for? Football season is back, and their team is playing.
After the first three weeks of the season, conference standings have began to take form. Many of the teams favored to do well this season have. However, some teams have fallen in the first few weeks of the National Football League’s regular season. Here are the standings after the first three weeks of the regular season.

Notably, the New England Patriots have started off extremely strong. Coming out of a busy off season, Tom Brady and company have proved any of the skeptical critics wrong. Tom Brady faced an uphill battle coming into this season. Many times, teams have a tough time defending their championships and maintaining their success from the past year. The New England Patriots coming off of a controversial championship season, have a difficult year ahead. However, it seems that they have picked up from where they finished last season. Brady, leading the offense, already has over 1100 passing yards and nine touchdowns. There seems to be no sign of the team slowing down either. Many including Brent Shishido (12), “think that they might go undefeated this season.”
In Dallas, the Cowboys have had a decent start. After the first three weeks, the Dallas Cowboys are 2 and 1. With a promising start, the team started with two impressive wins. But, they fell to the Ravens this past week. Even worse news, the team will have to face their season without their star quarterback, Tony Romo. Romo suffered from a broken left collarbone in the second week of the season. After being placed on the short term injury reserve list, Romo can not be expected to play until November 22nd. Meaning, he will miss the next seven games of the Cowboy’s season.
The coming weeks will surely be exciting. Many anticipate the continued success of the New England Patriots, and will await to see the return of Tony Romo. Many weeks remain in the season. Until the Super Bowl rolls around, and the off season begins, take shelter in your room while your dad and his closest friends scream at the TV in your living room.
