- In the midst of the holiday season, opportunities arise to buy goods–whether intended to be gifts or not– for a discounted price during Black Friday at many popular stores, including Target, Amazon, and Walmart. Brooke Holmes (9) says, “I think Black Friday is a helpful thing because it gives people the chance to buy things at a cheaper cost and they can save money”, explaining her reasoning for the usefulness of Black Friday.
While their deals (ranging from clothing to ice cream) are too extensive to detail fully in this article, Target, Amazon, and Walmart all offer spectacular technology and media deals that will be covered.
Starting off strong with Target, this store’s tech deals include a 29% off TCL TV, 39% off ninth-generation Apple iPads, $214 off the Lenovo IP Duet 13.3″ Chromebook, and $50 off the XBOX Series X console (Mashable). For audio lovers, Apple Beats headphones are 29% off and BOSE earbuds are 17% off (Huffpost). Target also offers 28% off all Target-exclusive vinyl albums and up to 44% off boxed book sets. Additionally, Target motivates buyers to check their website daily with their Deal of the Day deals, which lasts for only one day before disappearing (Target). It’s like a Christmas calendar for shopping!
Amazon offers tech deals centered mostly around their own brand products, like the three-months-free Amazon music deal or the up to 55% off select Kindle, Ring, and Amazon Fire products (Tom’s Guide.) But it also includes Samsung products, like the 40% off Samsung 55 Inch Wall Mount Smart TV and the 32% off Samsung Galaxy Tablet. Amazon’s media deals include 50% off Kindle books in the Mindy’s Book Studio collection (including: The Vibrant Years by Sonali Dev, I’ll Stop the World by Lauren Thoman, The Better Half by Alli Frank & Asha Youmans, Woke Up Like This by Amy Lea, Almost Surely Dead by Amina Akhtar, Friends in Napa by Sheila Yasmin Marikar, Sorry for the Inconvenience by Farah Naz Rishi, and Drop Dead Sisters by Amelia Diane Coombs) as well as 40% off on select toys and games (About Amazon).
Walmart’s deals, though not available early like Amazon and Target’s deals are, remain just as quality as Target and Amazon’s. TCL seems to be a good brand for deals this year, making an appearance on Walmart’s tech list of deals in a bundle along with a Roku for $228 ($301 less than list price) (Corporate Walmart). Additionally, Walmart flaunts deals on Apple’s 11.6 inch Macbook Air Bundle ($194, saving $81), Sony’s 75 Class BRAVIA 4K HDR LED TV with Google TV ($898, saving $600), and Apple’s Second Generation Apple Watch ($189, saving $60) (CNET) Select books and movies have received varying discounts, though many seem unrelated to the Black Friday event (Walmart).
With most of these deals available now and more coming soon, it’s time to get shopping!
