Fans of K-pop and R&B/pop are buzzing with excitement as two popular singers release a song together. The K-pop idol, Rosé, and American singer-songwriter, Bruno Mars, recently released a single together called “APT” on October 18th. Soon after the release, the song secured a spot at No. 3 on the Global Spotify chart, gaining over 6.85 million streams. Roseanne Chae-young Park, better known as Rosé, was born in Auckland, Australia, and is a 27-year-old K-pop idol who is a member of BLACKPINK. She is also a solo artist who is known for her popular album titled “R,” and specifically the songs “On the Ground” and “Gone.” These songs were an instant hit and tremendously propelled her career in the K-pop industry.
Bruno Mars is known for his amazing stage performances and his wide variety of musical genres such as pop, R&B, funk, soul, reggae, rock, and disco. One has most likely heard his songs at least once as he has made numerous popular songs that are still played today. His most popular songs include “Uptown Funk,” “Just the Way You Are,” and “That’s What I Like.” Not only has Mars sold over 130 million records worldwide, but eight of his songs have reached No.1 on the Billboard Hot 100. This time, it is the track’s cover image and the caption just said “💗 APT. ⚡︎ OCT 18 💗.” This confirmed that they were working together and their new single was released a day after their announcement. To no one’s surprise, the comments were filled with anticipation and excitement. Although not an avid music listener, Brooke Polomsky (9) expresses her opinions of the song by saying, “The collab was unexpected, but I enjoyed the upbeat music and the energy of the song. ”
