Yorba Linda, the land of the gracious living, commemorates the holidays with events that encourage the community to bring joy to themselves and others. Local favorites such as the Yorba Linda Public Library offer family bonding activities and community service opportunities to help teens fulfill their hours and provide care for everyone in the city. Celebrate with these events to welcome the incoming holidays.

The Modern Makers Mart opens in the Yorba Linda Town Center on December 17 and January 8 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. This pop-up market is free to attend and has several vendors selling homemade goods and delicacies. There are activities for everyone, including a complimentary craft table for kids to enjoy and show off their own creative talent.

Yorba Linda Public Library (YLPL) joins in on the festive fun with Holidays on the Paseo for all ages on December 21, 5:30-7:30 PM. Come to the library to bask in the sparkling lights of the paseo while decorating cookies, drinking hot cocoa, and making crafts. Music will be provided as well to fully embody the holiday spirit.

Additionally, the library has several events especially for teens 13+ to either socialize, volunteer, or both. One upcoming occasion is the teen craft for a cause which occurs on December 17 from 1:00-4:00 PM. The art supplies are provided and all that volunteers need to bring are their compassion, creativity, and school volunteer form. Students from any high school or city are welcome to join in on the merriment of giving by producing crafts that get donated to a local senior assisted living center.

Another location offering holiday experiences is The Rinks – Yorba Linda Ice which is putting on a themed public skating session for people that love to wear ugly sweaters. Mark the calendars for December 23 from 7:15-8:45 PM for a night filled with festive ugly sweaters and skaters. Admission is $15 for a pass and a skate rental when you wear an ugly sweater— entries must be purchased in person to redeem the offer. Online registration opens the week before the event on The Rink’s website

Filling the next weeks with holiday fun starts up the spirit of Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and more. Aiyanna Reed (9) states, “I think festive events are great ways to put people in the holiday spirit and I love participating in them. Festive events can be charitable like a holiday food drive…I’ve also gone to fun movie nights and Christmas-themed parties as well which all make me very excited for the holidays.”

Bring friends or family to these festivities to celebrate the upcoming cheer and joy of the holiday season. Yorba Linda will show the local attractions that it has to offer, and everyone can be a part of the community by being together in a time of merry fun.
