The Christmas season is finally here! One way to indulge in the holiday cheer is by going Christmas light viewing. Light viewing is a cheap and easy way to get in the holiday spirit.

Grab a cup of hot cocoa and a pair of fuzzy socks and enjoy a glimpse of twinkling festivities. We have compiled a list of some of the best houses in our local Orange County area to see wonderful neighborhoods and light shows!

444 Normandy Ave, Placentia

This dazzling location was decorated by the homeowner’s son who works for Disney’s light shows. If you come on the weekend you may not only be treated to an outrageous light show—you may also get to see Santa! Oh, and the next door neighbor’s house has another fun and humorous treat.

20630 Vista Del Sol, Yorba Linda

On this street, TV meets Christmas lights: these houses have synchronized a wall of lights and other decorations for a fun, multimedia show.

5325 Village Center Dr, Yorba Linda

A wonderful way to spend a Christmas season night is walking East Lake Village. The whole neighborhood is always decked out, and the multicolored lights on the water may be one of the most beautiful things you see this season.

N Yale Ave, Fullerton

This cute old neighborhood in Fullerton is packed with balls of christmas lights hanging from the trees lining the street. This one is fun to drive through with the top down or sunroof open. You’ll often see residents hanging out around fire pits and sharing jolly  holiday stories.

1816 N Symphony St, Anaheim

A smaller, but impressively clean cut light show. They usually have newer and odder music selections and do a great job syncing with their custom light show.

5792 Grandview Ave, Yorba Linda

This vineyard house goes crazy with the props and decorations. You may even be able to enjoy a magical snow storm in the middle of California while you take in the lights and characters covering this large estate. One student, Kiara Melwani (11) says “I love going light looking when it gets closer to Christmas! Seeing all the pretty lights always makes me happy. This house is always one my family and I stop by every year.”

838 Candlewood St, Brea

The Eagle Hills neighborhood is famous for its holiday decorations. While there’s no shortage of amazing houses, there is typically a shortage of space! Risk the crowds on the weekend or try to hit it on an off time (but good luck!). Another strategy is to park across the street in the industrial building parking lots and just walk the neighborhood. As it gets closer to Christmas you’ll likely find everything from carolers to hot cocoa, so it pays to slow down and take your time.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas, and we hope this helps to brighten your holiday!
