Self-Driving Car?
January 23, 2015
Recently, Mercedes has unveiled a concept in where the car drives itself while the passengers fall back into their chair and relax. Sounds like heaven, right? With combining luxury and technology together, Mercedes was successful in creating an electric car that seat four passengers. While the car navigates to its destination, individuals are allowed to retreat from all the stress from driving.
Passengers are seated in pedestal seats that can rotate 30 degrees so they can enter and leave the car. The interior is designed in such a way that passengers can maintain a conversation with other, instead of them constantly looking over their shoulders. Dieter Zetsche, Chairman and Head of Mercedes, claims that ” Mercedes is growing beyond its role as a mere means of transport and will ultimately become a mobile living space.” Shelby Emami (10) thinks ” that Mercedes is doing a great job by using our world’s innovative technology to make their products better.”
In addition, the user can also manually drive the car, if he/she wishes to do so. Since Mercedes heavily implemented technology into this car, the user is able to use GPS, social media apps, music, etc.
With such change to the auto-making business, companies are inching us closer to a more autonomous future.
