D23: A Glimpse Into Disney’s Future

Last week, Disney had their annual expo, D23! At this event, the company shared their upcoming projects, new merchandise, and a sneak peek into their future! Since the company owns so many franchises, there are announcements for everyone! Star Wars, Marvel, Disney, and theme park news!
Marvel Studios is by far one of the most popular entertainment franchises that Disney owns. This fantastic franchise is a force to be reckoned with, making top charts in the box office and earning a giant and loyal fanbase. Fans could not be more excited to hear about all the thrilling projects they have in store for them. Some of the projects they announced last week include: Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumainia, Werewolf by Night, Captain America: New World Order, Thunderbolts, The Marvels, Ironheart, Secret Invasion, Armor Wars, Loki Season 2, Echo, and Daredevil: Born Again. These upcoming TV shows and films are sure to be a hit! Marvel Studios continues to produce content that is exciting to fans of all types.
Star Wars is another property that is owned by “The Mouse.” Just like Marvel, Star Wars has a very dedicated following. Star Wars fans are thirsty for new content, and D23 surely quenched their thirst. The brand presents amazing future projects such as: Andor, The Mandalorian: Season 3, live action Ahsoka show imagery dropped, The Bad Batch: Season 2, Tales of the Jedi, and Young Jedi Adventures. LucasFilm also shared news about Indiana Jones 5! Harrison Ford is reprising his iconic role and will surely not disappoint.
Of course, Disney itself has a ton of amazing projects coming soon! Some of these include: The Little Mermaid, Hocus Pocus 2, Disenchanted, Inside Out: 2, Mufasa: The Lion King, The Santa Clauses, Percy Jackson and the Olymipans, and Mickey: The Story of a Mouse.
Disney’s iconic theme parks, Disneyland and Disney World, also added some new and exhilarating rides/ride improvements! Some of these attractions that were announced include a “King Thanos Battle Experience” at Avengers Campus and “Big Hero 6 Land” coming soon here in Southern California’s California Adventure. Disney even hinted at a new land in the Magic Kingdom at Disney World!
Out of all these exciting announcements, one thing is for sure, fans are over the moon with excitement! One student, Kiara Melwani (11), says “I can’t wait for all these shows and movies coming out so soon! I definitely am looking forward to what Disney has to offer.” The company sure knows how to put on a show and make their fans look forward to their future projects. The event was definitely a success, and the new shows, attractions, and features definitely keep Disney a company that grows and changes with the times.
