Holiday Events in Orange County

During the holiday season, Orange County is full of various holiday events that students can attend. From local events in Yorba Linda to events in other nearby cities, students have many options to celebrate the holiday season.
Located in Yorba Linda, one holiday event that students can take part in is A Holiday of Hope at the Richard Nixon Library. Here, students can write the names of their loved ones to place on a Christmas tree located in the library. Holiday themed events will take place on December 9, December 16, and December 23.
Another exciting holiday event that students can attend in the Newport Beach Christmas Boat Parade. From December 15-19, students can view this parade that features over 250 decorated boats – free of charge. Asides from just viewing the boat parade, it is also possible for people to reserve tickets so that they can view the parade from boats, providing a closer view of the parade as well as the many decorated homes and businesses.
One popular event that students can attend is the Annual Nights of 1000 Lights in Corona del Mar. Located at the Sherman Library and Gardens, students can walk through brightly lit holiday displays. There are also complementary holiday treats, arts and crafts, and photo opportunities for the people who attend.
Another event that students can attend is the Swedish Christmas Julbord at the Ikea in Costa Mesa. At this event, students will be able to celebrate this Swedish Christmas tradition. Another holiday event located in Costa Mesa that students can attend is the Night of Lights OC. From November 26 to January 2, guests will be able to drive through displays of lights at the OC Fair and Event Center, making this event a festive and safe event. Also located at the OC Fair and Event Center is Winter Fest OC, an event where people can enjoy multiple holiday attractions such as tubing, SoCal’s largest outdoor skating rink, light mazes, and seasonal treats.
According to Madison Liao (11), her favorite holiday activity is “ice skating at Irvine Spectrum because it is so much fun.” At the Irvine Spectrum, students can go ice skating every day this month (with the exception of Christmas day until January 1 on New Year’s Day). The entry cost is $25 for people without their own skates and $23 for those who have their own skates.
No matter where students decide to spend their holiday, Orange County is full of so many festive events in addition to those mentioned above. With these options and much more across the entire county, students will undoubtedly be able to find many opportunities to experience incredible holiday events throughout the county.
