Student Spotlight: Isaiah Seo
November 13, 2018
Few people have been able to nurture the same academic perfection that Isaiah Seo has achieved. Even though Isaiah was homeschooled for most of his life, throughout his four years in high school, Isaiah Seo has always been known for his intelligence and involvement in school activities. Currently, Isaiah is Captain of Varsity Tennis, valued member of OCAD, senior representative of hours in the National Honor Society, the Vice President of the Aceing Autism Club on campus, and Co-captain of Parliamentary debate on the speech and debate program.
More than excelling at all the extracurricular activities he has ever participated in, Isaiah has an untarnished, unweighted GPA of 4.0 and weighted GPA of 4.6 while enrolling in as many advanced placement courses as he could possibly. Furthermore, Isaiah has achieved outstanding scores in all standardized tests, scoring nothing below fives on any advanced placement tests. On the SAT, he scored 1580 with a score of 18 on the essay portion of the test. On the SAT subject tests, he scored a 790 on the United History subject test and a perfect score of 800 on the math level 2 subject test. Isaiah wishes to attend either University of California Los Angeles or the University of Southern California after graduation. In college, Isaiah wishes to major in biochemistry so he can pursue a profession as a doctor in the future.
His weekly schedule includes his current 5 AP classes. Aside from his regular curriculums, his extracurricular activities demand 3 zero periods on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays. After School, he has speech and debate practice on Mondays and Wednesdays, going from 3 pm to 5 pm. He has tennis practices after school every day.
Outside of school, Isaiah is actively involved in his church, attending church 3 times a week, At Church, Isaiah looks after the younger children and assists with the volume board. As a close, personal friend of Isaiah, I can attest that he is one of the most capable human beings I have ever had the pleasure of knowing as well as being a responsible and kind friend.
Ryan Lowery(12) expresses the same sentiments: “I have known Isaiah for a very long time and he is one of my closest friends. Everything he has ever set his mind to he has been able to succeed. He is always a wonderful addition to any team.”
