In a few months, all music lovers will be able to experience the hype of one of the most popular and most talked about music festivals in America. Coachella is an annual music and arts festival that takes place at the Empire Polo Club in Indio, California. This event consists a lineup of both humongous and popular bands and artists, as well as the bands and artists that are not widely known, but still up and coming.

Last year, Coachella was rated number five in “The Best Music Festivals of Summer 2016” (Glamour). Maybe this year the ratings will be higher for the festival. This event starts on Friday, April 14, goes on for two weekends only, and ends on Sunday, April 23. Everyone has anticipated for these two weekends and the acts which will be performing for these special days has just been released for the world to see.

Acts will perform two days, on the same day for both weekends. On Friday, Radiohead will headline along with other bands performing the same day, such as The xx, Travis Scott, Mac Miller, Mac DeMarco, Phantogram, BANKS, Glass Animals, Crystal Castles, Oh Wonder, and so many more widely known and smaller acts. On Saturday, Beyonce headlines in conglomeration with other big and small bands and artists like Future, Bon Iver, Two Door Cinema Club, Bastille, Warpaint, Local Native, and numerous more. Finally, on the last day, Sunday, the headliner will be Kendrick Lamar, in which he will be joined by Lorde, Galantis, Kehlani, Grouplove, Kaytranada, Devendra Banhart, Twin Peaks, and many other acts on the same day. Holley Fields (10) elaborates and explains deeply how, “Coachella is a place where everyone and anyone can be themselves and enjoy the music they love.” Although there is much music for one person to enjoy, people can meet others who share the same music taste and socialize with them.

Not only does Coachella provide for one’s satisfaction for music, but they also provide and include art that is displayed all around the area for the more artistic minds. As this music festival is called “The Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.” These original, large-scaled art pieces are able to set the mood for the environment and are another form of enjoyment for visitors. This is considered one of the “essential element[s] of the Coachella experience” (Coachella). In addition to the art, the experience is not complete without the food from 100+ vendors set up all around the site. To conclude, Coachella 2017 has an impressive and unbelievable lineup. Hopefully, expectations will be met at this event and the audience will be more than satisfied.
