Doing exercise is great! There is something we just forget, and that is our brain. Now, what is so important about working your brain? Your brain is what controls how you are as a person. Believe it or not, it has more control over you than anything or anyone else. However there is a way how a person can control it! There is an exercise for this, its called reading. Reading is a great way to have your mind analyze what you know and what you plan to do sooner or later. You can get more out of reading than what you think.

Now you might say reading is dumb and boring. Instead, give it a try. There are some great books to read and they will help you understand materials in life much easier. A great book to read would be Walking in the Woods by Bill Bryson. The novel teaches about courage and not giving up, and if you have faith you can make it through any situation. In addition, Maggie Pell (10) says, “It was a challenging book to read because of what the characters went through and because it was based off a true story.” The book doesn’t just talk about the characters, it releases a theme through them. Another great book to read is Charlotte’s Web by E.B White. The moral of the book is beauty and love of friendship as well as the importance of choosing a true friend or a real friend; Kindness moves the characters throughout the book. According to Jessica Gutierrez (10), “Kindness is what lets a character continue moving forward.”

Going into further reading, After Alice by Gregory Maguire shows the power of determination. In Sarah Ruggles’s (10) words, “It is about Alice’s friend Ada and her perspective of Wonderland, while she is trying to find Alice and find her way back home.” Needless to say hard work and determination is what helps us as human being succeed what we desire. Moving forward, another great book to read is Their Eyes Were Watching God by Zora Neale Hurston. According to Sophia Chen (10), the moral of this book is “love is protective and it can take you anywhere, even to places you never thought of.”

Stretching your mind and feeding it with books will help you become a successful and understandable person. Reading books can take you anywhere. As Anna Quindlen says,

“Books are the plane, and the train, and the road. They are the destination, and the journey. They are home.”
