The YLHS Women’s Varsity Golf Team is taking home the League Champion title yet again this year! They started in a harder league, Crestview League, just this season. The team tied for this title with Foothill High School, and are reigning as Co-Champions.

The other two schools in the Crestview League are Brea Olinda High School and Canyon High School. YLHS has successfully won all matches with Brea Olinda High School and Canyon High School, both home and away, with a wide margin. Towards the end of season, the girls have been scoring better than ever. Throughout the last two months, the Lady Mustangs have been practicing hard for to keep their title. Foothill High School has been tough competition.

At League Finals on Tuesday, October 21, at Goose Creek Golf Course, Foothill scored four strokes better, and will advance into CIF as the First Place Team, while YLHS will go as the runner up team.

“This team has changed my whole high school experience. The girls on the team are practically my sisters,” said Marcel Manalo (10). Manalo is one of the four girls, including Brooke Graebe (12), Britney Sok (12), and Kylie Sok (10), who have advanced into the second round of league finals, and competed for one of the seven spots in Crestview League for CIF Individuals.

Brooke Graebe will be advancing into CIF Individuals as a part of 1st Team All League. Last year, Graebe placed seventh in State, but she hopes to place even better this year. Britney Sok and Kylie Sok are both advancing as part of 2nd Team All League. The trio will be playing Monday, October 27th, to try to qualify for CIF State.

For the team as a whole, the only thing left is CIF, which will be held on Thursday, October 30th, in Ojai, California. Good Luck Mustangs!
